Application and Service Provider

This Privacy Policy applies to the Scrimshaw Log app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by KII KO. KII KO is referred to as the Service Provider in this policy.

Scrimshaw Log is a creative workshop documentation utility for lawful modern materials such as synthetic ivory, resin bone, Micarta, calcite, and polymer composites. It is not wildlife product software, ivory trade software, hunting software, endangered species compliance software, legal material verification software, certified conservation software, or a replacement for lawful material sourcing, local regulations, safe engraving practices, professional craft training, ethical material choices, or expert workshop judgment.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

The Application does not collect, log, transmit, sell, share, or store personal information when you download and use it. Registration is not required, and the Application does not require a website account, login, user profile, or authorization.

Project records such as project titles, dimensions, status values, motif references, substrate notes, needle configurations, diffuse light photos, raking light photos, ink-and-wipe notes, polishing sequences, tonal depth results, surface notes, and app settings are intended to remain on the user’s device as local app data.

If the Application or website is accessed with an active internet connection, technical protocol data such as an ephemeral IP address may be transmitted by normal network infrastructure to deliver connectivity. KII KO does not retain this data for tracking.

Location information

Scrimshaw Log does not collect precise real-time location information from your mobile device.

Third-party access

Since the Application does not collect personal information during normal use, no personal data from the Application is shared with third parties.

Data Retention

KII KO does not collect or retain personal information from normal Application use. The Service Provider does not keep project logs, creative archive data, photos, motif notes, substrate records, or settings on external servers.

Data Deletion

Because Scrimshaw Log does not collect personal data through normal use, there is no personal app data stored by KII KO to delete. Users can remove locally stored app records by deleting data inside the app where available, clearing app storage through device settings, or uninstalling the Application.

If you voluntarily contact KII KO by email or provide information through another direct communication channel, you may request deletion of that voluntarily provided information by contacting support@kiiko.ink.

Opt-out rights

Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, uninstalling it removes the Application from your device. You may also clear any local records using device-level controls or app-level controls where available.

Children

The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age, or a higher age where required by applicable law. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit data from children or market to them. Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, children’s personal data is not collected by the Application.

Security

Because the Application does not collect personal data during normal use, the risk of exposure from Service Provider systems is minimal. However, no security system is completely secure. KII KO uses reasonable safeguards for any information that users voluntarily provide through direct contact.

Data breach notification

Since Scrimshaw Log does not collect personal data through normal use, the risk of a data breach affecting app personal data is minimal. If a breach occurs involving information voluntarily provided to KII KO, the Service Provider will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

KII KO may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with an updated effective date. Where required by law, consent will be requested before material changes take effect.

Your consent

By using the Application, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you voluntarily provide information to KII KO and processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
